Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day moms. I wanted to update you on what I have been doing this past week. It’s been a busy work week.
We just added our newest piece of technology a few days ago – direct digital x-rays. Although, we already have a digital x-ray system in the office currently, this new system we just acquired is faster making appointments that require x-rays faster. This system, similar to our previous one still promises up to 80% less radiation compared to traditional x-ray systems.
Also, in case you folks are not aware, I am a Pure Power Mouthguard provider. The PPM as we call it, is a specialized sportsguard which optimizes strength and endurance when playing sports. Speciialized techniques and equipment are used to find the ideal position that teeth and adjacent structures should be in to maximize performance. I got word earlier this past week that a professional athlete wishes I make a PPM for him – how exciting!
Yesterday, my older daughter Ritika (Ri-thi-ka) wanted ice cream so we went to a reputable ice cream parlor. There, I saw the person who was about to serve us lick her fingers – yuck! I politely asked her if she would wash her hands. She did but seemed offended. She said “but I don’t touch the ice cream or the cone”. I couldn’t understand her thinking. My husband said that well we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes at places we expect to be hygenic. I agreed, but added that we wouldn’t think of not providing our patients with sterilized instruments and a clean, sanitary environment. Needless to say, we won’t be going back there.
A place that I will be visiting again is Cupcakes Actually in Fairfax – awesome cupcakes. I know what you’re thinking – I keep my toothbrush handy!
Lastly. on a healthy note, I finally purchased the P90X DVDs. I have seen the infomercial a couple of times and I recently read an article on it in the Washington Post. Although, in the past I have been quite regular with my workout routines, I have been lagging since I moved to Virginia this past December. I’m hoping the founder Tony Horton will motivate me as I do feel there is merit to his muscle confusion technique. I will keep you posted. Bye for now.
